Frequently Asked Questions

Hair Quality & Material
Are your wigs made of real human hair?+
Yes, all ABAC Hair wigs are made from 100% Remy human hair — the highest grade available. Remy hair means the cuticles are kept intact and aligned in the same direction, which prevents tangling and gives the hair its natural shine and movement. Unlike synthetic wigs, our human hair wigs can be washed, styled, and colored just like your own biological hair.
Can I dye or bleach the wig?+
Yes, because our wigs are 100% human hair, they can be dyed or bleached. However, we strongly recommend having this done by a professional colorist who has experience with wigs. The hair has already undergone processing to achieve its current color, so additional chemical treatments should be done carefully. Always do a strand test first. Going darker is generally safer than going significantly lighter.
Can I use heat tools like curling irons and straighteners?+
Yes, our human hair wigs are safe for heat styling. We recommend using a heat protectant spray before applying any hot tools, and keeping the temperature under 350°F (180°C) to preserve the hair’s longevity. Excessive heat styling will shorten the lifespan of any human hair product, so treat your wig with the same care you would give to heavily styled natural hair. Air drying and heatless styling methods will help your wig last longer.
Can I style it daily?+
Absolutely — our wigs are designed for daily wear and regular styling. For best results, use a wide-tooth comb or wig brush, start detangling from the ends and work upward, and apply a leave-in conditioner to keep the hair soft and manageable. Many of our customers style their wig each morning with minimal effort. For heat styling, always use a protectant. At night, store your wig on a stand or mannequin head to maintain its shape.
Can I color or highlight the wig?+
Yes, our wigs can be colored because they are 100% human hair. You can add highlights, lowlights, or go darker. We recommend consulting a professional colorist for best results. Keep in mind that the current color is the base — dramatic color changes (such as going from dark brown to platinum blonde) require multiple processing sessions and may affect hair quality. Always do a strand test first, and avoid overlapping bleach on previously processed hair.
Wear & Comfort
Do I need glue or adhesive to wear the wig?+
No, our wigs are designed with a glueless cap construction — you do not need any glue, tape, or adhesive. Each wig features adjustable straps, silicone grip strips, and built-in combs that hold the wig securely in place. Simply adjust the straps to your head size, position the wig, and go. That said, if you prefer extra security for active days or special events, you can use wig tape or adhesive along the front hairline — it is completely optional.
Does it look natural? Will people be able to tell?+
Our wigs are designed to be undetectable. Every wig features HD (high-definition) Swiss lace that is ultra-thin and virtually invisible against the scalp. Each unit comes with a pre-plucked hairline (mimicking natural hair density at the edges), pre-bleached knots (so the hair appears to grow directly from the scalp), and baby hairs along the perimeter. Combined with 100% Remy human hair that moves and catches light naturally, most people — including hairstylists — cannot tell it is a wig.
Is it comfortable for all-day wear?+
Yes, our wigs are engineered for comfort. The cap is made from lightweight, breathable materials that allow airflow to your scalp. The adjustable straps ensure a snug but not tight fit. Most customers report forgetting they are wearing a wig after the first hour. If you have a sensitive scalp, we recommend our glueless designs which eliminate any irritation from adhesives. The average weight of our wigs is comparable to natural hair, so you will not feel weighed down.
Will the wig slip or fall off?+
When properly adjusted, your wig should stay securely in place throughout the day. Our wigs include multiple security features: adjustable straps at the nape, silicone grip strips along the perimeter, and built-in combs at the temples and crown. For most daily activities — working, shopping, dining out — the glueless system holds perfectly. For high-intensity activities like running, swimming, or riding roller coasters, you may want to use optional adhesive for extra peace of mind.
Can I sleep in my wig?+
We do not recommend sleeping in your wig. Friction from tossing and turning against a pillowcase can cause tangling, matting, and accelerated shedding. The lace may also stretch or tear under prolonged pressure. If you must sleep in your wig, use a silk or satin pillowcase and gently braid or wrap the hair to minimize friction. Removing your wig at night and storing it on a wig stand will significantly extend its lifespan.
Is it beginner-friendly? I have never worn a wig before.+
Absolutely — our glueless wigs are designed with beginners in mind. Because they require no adhesive, no complicated installation, and come pre-styled, you can literally take them out of the box and put them on. Most new wearers get comfortable within the first few days. We recommend watching a few YouTube tutorials on wig placement for extra confidence. Our customer service team is also happy to guide you through the process — just reach out to us.
Care & Maintenance
Will the wig shed?+
All human hair wigs experience some minimal shedding, especially during the first few wears. This is normal — loose hairs from the manufacturing process (short hairs that are not anchored at the weft) naturally release. To minimize shedding, handle your wig gently when brushing and washing, avoid aggressive combing, and use a wide-tooth comb. If you experience excessive shedding (clumps of hair coming out consistently), please contact us — this may indicate a defect and is covered by our quality guarantee.
How do I wash my wig?+
Step 1: Gently detangle the hair with a wide-tooth comb, starting from the ends.
Step 2: Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of sulfate-free shampoo. Submerge the wig and gently swish — do not rub, scrub, or twist.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly with cool water until all shampoo is removed.
Step 4: Apply conditioner from mid-lengths to ends (avoid the roots and lace). Leave for 5 minutes, then rinse.
Step 5: Gently blot with a microfiber towel — never wring or twist. Place on a wig stand to air dry away from direct sunlight and heat.
How long does a wig last?+
With proper care, an ABAC Hair wig typically lasts 12-24 months. Lifespan depends on how often you wear it, how you style it, and how you care for it. Daily wear with frequent heat styling will result in 6-12 months of optimal quality, while occasional wear with gentle care can extend the lifespan to 2+ years. Signs that it is time for a replacement include excessive dryness, persistent tangling, significant shedding, or lace wear. Treating your wig with care products designed for human hair wigs will maximize its longevity.
How often should I wash my wig?+
We recommend washing your wig every 7-10 wears, or when you notice product buildup, dullness, or odor. Washing too frequently can dry out the hair and shorten its lifespan, while washing too infrequently can lead to tangling and an unkempt appearance. Between washes, you can refresh the hair with a lightweight leave-in conditioner or a diluted fabric softener spray. If you use styling products daily, you may need to wash more often.
Does the wig tangle? How do I prevent it?+
Human hair wigs can tangle, just like natural hair, especially with friction from clothing collars, wind, or sleeping. To prevent tangling: (1) brush gently with a wide-tooth comb daily, (2) apply a silicone-free detangling spray, (3) avoid wearing high-collared clothing that rubs against the hair, (4) sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase, and (5) never brush wet hair roughly. If tangling does occur, work through it patiently from the ends upward with a detangling product.
How should I store my wig?+
Store your wig on a wig stand or canvas mannequin head to maintain its shape and allow airflow. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight (UV rays can fade the color over time) and away from dust. If traveling, store the wig in a silk or satin bag to prevent friction and tangling — never fold or crush the cap. For long-term storage, wash and fully dry the wig first, then store it loosely covered.

After 24 hours, your order typically enters processing and cannot be cancelled. Do you ship worldwide?+
Yes, we ship to most countries worldwide. Delivery times and shipping costs vary by destination. Free shipping is available on orders over $500 USD. Please note that international orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are the responsibility of the buyer. For specific destination inquiries, please email us at services@abachair.com.
How do I measure my head for the right cap size?+
Use a soft measuring tape to measure: (1) Circumference: around your head, starting at the front hairline, going behind the ear, around the nape, and back to the front. (2) Ear to ear: across the top of your head from one ear to the other. (3) Front to back: from your front hairline to the nape of your neck. Most adults fit comfortably in our standard medium cap (21.5-22.5 inches circumference). If your measurements fall outside this range, please contact us — we offer small and large cap sizes on most styles.
What wig density should I choose?+
Wig density refers to how thick or full the hair appears. Our standard density is 150%, which provides a natural, medium-full look suitable for most people. 130% gives a lighter, more natural everyday look (great for beginners). 180% offers noticeably fuller, more voluminous hair (popular for special occasions or if you prefer a glamorous look). If you are unsure, 150% is the safest starting point — it looks natural without being too thin or too heavy.
Returns & Policies
Can I return my wig if I do not like it?+
Yes, we accept returns within 7 days of delivery, provided the wig is in its original, unused condition. This means the lace must be intact (uncut), there must be no signs of wear, styling products, or odors, and all original packaging must be included. For hygiene reasons, worn wigs cannot be returned. Please see our full Return & Refund Policy for detailed instructions on initiating a return.
Are custom wigs refundable?+
No, custom-made wigs are non-refundable. Because each custom wig is made to your unique specifications (color, length, density, cap size, lace type), it cannot be resold. This is why we take extra care to confirm all details with you before production begins. If a custom wig arrives with a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it under our quality guarantee. Please double-check all specifications when ordering a custom piece.
Is the lace really invisible? How do I choose the right lace color?+
Our HD lace is ultra-thin (0.03mm) and designed to melt into your skin, creating the illusion that hair is growing directly from your scalp. We offer lace in three tones: transparent (best for fair to light skin), light brown (best for medium to tan skin), and medium brown (best for deeper skin tones). To choose, match the lace to your scalp color (visible at your part line), not your overall complexion. When properly installed with the right lace color, the lace is virtually undetectable — even up close.

Can I swim or exercise in my wig?+
We do not recommend swimming or intense exercise while wearing your wig. Chlorine and salt water can damage human hair and cause tangling or color fading. Heavy sweating during exercise may also cause the cap to shift and require more frequent washing. If you want to wear your wig for light activities like walking or yoga, it should be fine with proper adjustment. For swimming, we recommend using a swim cap over your wig or removing it beforehand. If your wig gets wet with chlorine or salt water, rinse it immediately with fresh water and condition it.
